Everyone needs to watch last night's Daily Show. They opened by hammering O'Really? for his 'stoned slacker' allegations, proceeded to trash the debate formats, the Torturer in Chief, and inferring that they are the new Kings of News Media - a truism that we have held dear for some time now. Plus, they mixed in a lovely reference to blogs along the way! Extra bonus: this show has a Back In Black segment. Extra double bonus: Sy Hersh was the guest and he hammered pRezNit Never My Fault mercilessly. I sure hope there's some audio clips from the show in the next edition of BartCop Radio.
Funny Farm Super Extra Bonus: IF you didn't get a chance to catch this show, I might be persuaded to dub you a copy. Requests will be graded on originality, desperation of situation, and promises of filthy lucre.
Posted by (: Tom :) at September 30, 2004 06:45 AMThey can also catch the re-run (or, "encore presentation" if you will) of last night's Daily Show tonight at 7 pm EDT. If it weren't for the 7 pm re-runs, I'd never get to watch it.
Posted by: Tina at September 30, 2004 09:11 AMI used to be that way. Until I learned of the magic of Tivo (the VHS recordings were off because the Daily Show doesn't start or end on the half hour) I was getting frustrated by missing the first and/or last minutes of the show. But thanks for catching me on this...
Posted by: (: Tom :) at September 30, 2004 09:39 AMNo problem!:-) Actually, I *could* tape it with my VCR if I wanted to, assuming that it starts at a uniform time every night (like 11:05 pm). My current VCR lets me set the starting and stopping times right down to the minute. But, since they re-run it at 7 pm the next day I don't bother.

Unfortunately, Comedy Central does not see fit to start the show at the same time every day. One day it starts at 6:55, the next at 7:03. You could set the VCR (like I did) to start at 6:55 and end at 7:35. But Tivo is much easier to set up, to play, and to dub onto VHS if the need is there.
You know, one of these days I'm gonna have to go have a drink with you in Ann Arbor (right around the corner from me here in Pontiac), just to say hi and talk about life, the universe, and everything. In the meantime, thanks for stimulating my melon and letting me know that I'm not just screaming into the void...
Posted by: (: Tom :) at September 30, 2004 02:35 PMIn light of the news that 'Daily Show' fans are more likely to be educated--watch for O'Reilly to come up with a 'report' or commentary that graduating from college is not so good anyway.
You'd almost need to be stoned to even put up with Bill's stupid show, as it is. Who does more harm to this country anyway--people who get lit up and stay on the couch watching cartoons, or barking mad religious fundamentalists and political extremists who go on national t.v. and spew hate and embarrass our entire species?
Give me the slacker any day.
