A funny set of coincidences took place over the weekend:
The Vice pResident of the United States shot someone on Saturday. For some strange reason, there were no blood tests done to determine whether the shooter was in some sort of impaired state. In fact, aside from informing Karl Rove, who then informed the Chimperor, there was not much of anything done at all on the day of the accident. No detaining in a holding cell. No messy questions from law enforcement officers to answer. No charges brought. No bail required. Funny, that... I wonder what would happen if a regular ordinary guy shot one of his "buddies" while hunting. Would they possibly check to see, and then verify, that the shooter was not impaired at the time? Would they possibly check for some sort of foul play?
The details about the person shot seem to be a little hazy, too, and some of them don't quite pass the smell test. Some reports say it was "over 10" pellets from a shotgun that hit the incidental target. Some say it was over 200. Some say the incidental target was hit at a range of 30 yards. Some say it was 30 feet. Some say that the shootee is doing fine in a hospital bed and is safely out of harm's way. Some others say that he barely made it out of the ICU and into a regular hospital bed.
Some who seem to have a bit of knowledge on the subject say that, if it was over 200 (out of about 300) pellets in that shotgun shell that caused the collateral damage, it would most definitely have had to be unloaded in an improper direction from about 30 feet. And some who have seen the results of a shotgun blast at a range of thirty feet say that the unintended target would be lucky to be functioning.
Ruh roh - it looks like somebody is not recovering quite as well as previously thought. It seems that some gunshot pellets lodged in a 78-year old man's heart have caused some sort of heart failure. Somehow that still seems to be the victim's fault in this case - as it miraculously seems to be whenever the perpetrator is a Repugnicant. I'm shocked, absolutely shocked, by this turn of events!
I wonder: if this guy dies, will that be his fault too? Will there be any sort of legal action taken against the person who accidentally blew half of the guy away a few days ago? Will there be any sort of outcry about another White House executroid who has taken someone else's life while in office?
Inquiring minds want to know...
