Suddenly I'm Not Feeling Quite So Good Any More

Friday, 22 Falltring 2007

Kevin Drum (nee Calpundit) points the way to an article in the online zine that pays his bills:

Newtered

Now, besides the catchy name which reminds me that the Gingrinch has had his stake pulled out and walks the earth once more, this article also tells me that my recent health improvements might be due more to my own efforts in diet management and weight reduction (30 lbs since the end of June! Thanks for asking...) than the angioplasty and Borg implant government monitoring device cardiac stent that was recently installed in Your Humble Narrator:

And the most recent example of a dramatic upset: a VA study, released earlier this year, which found that angioplasty and cardiac stents are no better at preventing a heart attack than so-called "medical management"—that is, getting patients with risk factors for heart disease to lose weight, exercise, and take medicines to lower their high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

Damn you, George Steinbrenner!
