We've Sent Mail

Sunday, 4 Falltring 2006

I finally got off my duff and sent in this email to the Freep, the News, and the Metro Times:

Shouldn't we be asking questions?

Why is it that the United States could spend over $70 million dollars investigating a Democratic president on trumped up nonsense, but when the worst president ever drowns New Orleans, bankrupts America, guts Medicaid, tries to gut Social Security, wrecks the economy, gives tax breaks to the rich at the expense of the poor, illegally invades other nations, and then lies about it every day, the media refuses to call him on any of it?

I implore you to call for an investigation into the illicit activities that this administration may have engaged in while in power.

Thanks to Bartcop for inspiring me to send these emails to the appropriate parties.

Fryday Cat Blogging

Fryday, 2 Falltring 2006

Well, I half heartedly went a-Googling for National Mental Health Day* to preface this well worn, hand-tooled classical joke I found in my emailbox the other day. Until I saw the bit about World Mental Health Day and thought that I could harness this aggressive feline and that upcoming event for additional embarrassment potential:

Is this how you feel at the end of the day? Or the beginning?
RamboKitty strikes again!

Every Day Can Be National Mental Health Day!**

You can do your part, by remembering to send an email to an unstable friend.
(Well...my job's done!)

Some days, it's not even worth chewing through the restraints...

** - but remember, kids - October 10 is World Mental Health Day. Get ready to wash those melons out with Big Brother brand mind cleanser!

Extreme props to Snoot from down south in the Great White North for passing this along to me***.

* - any National Mental Health Day. Pick a nation...

*** - now that this joke has finally made it from his place (months ago!) to my internets mail drop to be massaged and displayed here...

Reading The Signs

Humpday, 29 Sweltring 2006

A shot of Chinaco to BartCop for bringing this to my attention:

Secret Republican Plan to Impeach Bush?

Letter to the Editor

Have you heard that there is a secret Republican plan to impeach Bush? If the Democrats win both houses it just might happen. Here's the reason. If the Dems win then they might impeach Bush and Cheney making Nancy Pelosi president as she would be Speaker* of the House and next in line. However, if the Republicans impeach Bush before the Dems take power in January then Dennis Hastert* becomes president instead of Pelosi. But they would have just over 60 days to do it so they have to have it all planned out in advance.

It does seem extreme for Republicans to impeach Bush, but as we know if Nancy Pelosi is president she will probably pick Hillary Clinton as VP and the Republicans can't let that happen. So the rumor might just be true. When you think about it it all starts to make sense.

Dog Days

Sunday, 27 Sweltring 2006

It's summertime, and the living is easy. Which is why you haven't seen a lot of new stuff here of late.

There's also the visits to Toronto, the prep for the Vegas trip, the family reunion, and the disinclination to post anything while things are going well, among other distractions that are causing our font of infotainment to be somewhat less robust. And things seem to be okay here at the Funny Farm these days. There's a new logo at the top of the site now, and some additional blogs in the Links Zone. Plus, it appears that I have flummoxed my opponent in blogger's chess - either that, or my infamous excessive luck (very good or very bad) has started affecting him, too.

I would also like to note that due to circumstances beyond my control I have had a couple of wonderfully witty blog posts vanish due to the awesome stability of various WinDoze operating systems software (mainly XP).

But I couldn't resist bringing a few things to your attention (if you haven't noticed them already):

For the children of the religiously insane who might have some shreds of self-esteem still hanging around, there is this fine (cough) product:

The Armor of God pyjamas
The Armor of God pyjamas

Not only do we have the tinfoil helmet of salvation, the breasticle-plate of righteousness, the belt of truth*, the pillow shield of faith, and the winged footies of peace, but our sources can confirm that the codpiece of chastity (which is not clearly defined - so little sinners won't know where not to touch in the middle of the night) is triple-reinforced with special cootie-carrying sin resistant fabric in all the right places.

I wonder if Pajamas Media has ordered themselves a case of these sleepy time duds yet...

I have also found what I believe to be pResident Pull My Finger's favorite web site. It's flatulicious!

Finally, it seems that the marines are not a good career choice any more, unless you enjoy serving the United states government until you've spilled your life's blood for flag and country. You mean you thought you'd get to retire? With Republican'ts (who apparently have never seen a war that they could walk away from - as long as their a$$es aren't on the line) at the wheel? Go on, pull the other one...

* - which doesn't have nearly the power of Thor's belt of strength. Does that make the Norse god better than the christian one?

Say It Ain't So, Joe

Sunday, 13 Sweltring 2006

It appears that Sore Loserman (R in D's clothing - Rich Putsch Sycophant) is going to run as an independent after being defeated in the Democratic senate primary in Connecticut.

I've seen a lot of desperation from those who have been downsized due to the havoc that this junta has wreaked in the U.S. economy, but never to this level. Hey, JoeMentum - why don't you go back to school, learn a new trade, and try to re-enter the job market in a different profession? You know, the way your kissy-face partner in crime said all the recently unemployed could do when their jobs were removed from the economy?

Funny how the Republican'ts are miffed because Holy Joe lost in the primary.

Funny how the Republican'ts provided financial and personnel support to him, during his campaign to remain Connecticut's Democratic candidate for senator this fall.

And it's really funny how the Republican't Machiavelli, Karl Rove is offering his Chimperor's aid to Lie-berman in the 2006 midterm election.

Why, it's almost as though Joey No Game* is a Republican't who's been assigned to infiltrate the Democratic party!

Takes losing just like a Republican't - lying, cheating, and stealing his way out the door

Muchas gracias, Senor Tomorrow, por distribuir el cuadro excelente uno de sus lectores le han enviado.

More Compassionate Conservatism In Action

Sunday, 6 Sweltring 2006

GOP purging voter rolls. I find it interesting that the deadline for this sort of thing is Wednesday (today!) and the purging process began last Friday. I guess the Republican'ts wouldn't want any of that messy double-checking to make sure that they didn't accidentally (cough) purge some eligible Democratic voters in their rush to "fix" things. Oh - and they just happened to contract out to a vendor for the lists of ineligible voters. I wonder if that vendor would be the same one who helped Florida "fix" their voter lists, too?

And, it's really funny to note that Florida was supposed to have remedied their admitted error in purging the voter rolls in 2000 before the 2002 elections, but they still haven't corrected their mistakes yet.

It's also interesting to me to note that felons, parolees, and probationers are not allowed to vote in Florida. Can anyone else think of a prominent drug addict on talk radio, currently residing in Florida, who shouldn't be allowed to vote in the 2006 elections, but probably will anyway?

Thanks to The Daily Kos for pointing this out for all to find.

Reaching Out To The Little People

Dolphins coach turns down invitation to dine with President. The active player and the active coach from the Miami Dolphins who received one said no thanks, but Kiick, Buoniconti, Mandich and Marino (all ex-Dolphins of some notoriety) were made an offer that they couldn't refuse.

Isn't it amazing that the Vacationer In Chief has all sorts of time for this kind of crap, but can't even go to a single soldier's funeral?
